COUNTING DOWN 26 DAYS TIL NEW WHO! DW Actor of the Day! Today we celebrate DAVID BANKS! Mr. Banks was never once seen on Dr Who, because he was always behind the silver jaw makeup and emotionless metal eyeholes of a Cyberman helmet. Mr. Banks portrayed the Cyberleader on each of their missions from Earthshock through Silver Nemesis. His voice booming through the mouth grille as we saw that jaw move under the transparent plexiglass He made a chilling towering figure.. Remorseless and purposeful in each Leaders tasks Pitiless and inhuman....he fleshed out a character which i would believe is hard to really give any depth to, as there are no emotions in which to convey... Mr. Banks also wrote an original Cyberman novel for the 7th Doctor called Iceberg, where the remnants of the Cybermen party sent to the Antarctic return... The novel brings back some fun classic series references especially made to Tenth Planet and the Invasion and also lends some very gruesome images to the Cyberman conversion process.....well worth a read....
