COUNTRY: ANGOLA EMPLOYER: BRITISH PETROLEUM POSITION: Emergency Response/Crisis Management Senior Adviser Req ID: 49374BR Job category: Health, Safety, Security & Environment Sub-category: Crisis & Continuity Management Countries (State/Region): Angola Location: Luanda Role synopsis: Lead in establishing and maintaining the Region’s Crisis and Continuity management and emergency response program to ensure: •Conformance to GDP 4.6-0001 and GDP 4.6-0002 •Preparedness and response capability of all operating an non-operating functions, offices and sites •The delivery of a CM/ER assurance process to demonstrate the preparedness of the Region in all aspects for CM/ER Key accountabilities • Act as delegate for CM/ER Director in his/her absence • Provide training support of Angolan nationals to provide the future staff for CM/ER roles. • Develop and maintain succession plan for CM/ER organization • Manage development, implementation and delivery of the entity crisis and continuity management / emergency response programs • Provide input into annual entity risk assessment with respect to crisis management, business continuity and emergency response risks • Develop, update and maintain Region CCM/ER plans • Actively manage and ensure availability of materials, equipment, personnel and supplies necessary to implement CCM/ER plans • Plan, deliver and performance manage the program of training and exercises to maintain capability of CCM/ER personnel and conformance with Group Defined Practices • Timely delivery of effective lessons learned process within CCM/ ER to capture improvements identified during exercises and actual incidents • Provide professional advice and support during responses. • Diagnoses gaps in individual and organisational CCM/ER capability and ensure the development and performance of all direct reports • Be a member of the Group Crisis Mutual Response team. • Maintain connection, participate & network with CCM/ER network & to assist in ensuring the Region is in line with Group policy. • Demonstrate leadership regionally within the industry response community. • Be the focal point in the coordination of the Angola Region BST • Serve as on-call Regional BST Coordinator to facilitate a BST response • Deliver BST training and exercises • Conduct S&OR CM/ER Assurance audits on operating and non-operating functions in the Region Essential Education Advanced/High education in an HSSE or Engineering subject and professional accreditation, or equivalent background training and experience in industry, regulatory bodies, etc Essential experience and job requirements - • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the offshore oil industry, managing CCM/ER programmes • A good working knowledge of off-shore and shoreline oil spill response strategies and techniques • An understanding of Business Continuity Management Desirable criteria & qualifications - OSHA HAZWOPER 24 / 40 Hour; Incident Command System and or NIMS preferred Strong Leader Good Communicator - Ability to work with and influence all levels of the organisation - Experience of multinational environment Relocation available: Negotiable Travel required :Yes - up to 25% Is this a part time position?: No About BP Our business is the exploration, production, refining, trading and distribution of energy.
