COUNTY BRANDING H.E the Governor, Eng. John Mruttu, met stakeholders from Brand Kenya Board to discuss mechanisms for promoting and sustaining County brand both nationally and internationally as part of integrated efforts to open up the County for opportunities that shall be of benefit to residents. Speaking during the meeting, Eng. Mruttu acknowledged the importance of branding the County terming it as undeniable tool that shall be of significance in opening up the County for vast opportunities. “We are committed for this process because we believe that we’ve got a lot of uniqueness as a County which can be exploited to the advantage of the County government and its residents” said the Governor. The following was agreed in the meeting; 1.Creation of a secretariat that shall be mandated to steer branding of the County. 2.Establishment of a plan of action regarding County branding with clear defined time-frames. 3.Carrying out of asset mapping that shall be integral in branding the County. 4.Drafting and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Brand Kenya Board to initiate collaborative engagement with the County government. Present in the meeting include; National Brand Manager, Brand Kenya Board, Ms. Rose Asiimwe, Marketing Officer, Brand Kenya Board, Ms. Jackline Mong’are, County Executive Members, County Chief Officers of various departments among other key officers of the County Government. Brand Kenya Board is a state corporation established in Mar, 2008 to provide an integrated and coordinated mechanisms for promoting and sustaining Kenya brand both nationally and internationally.
