COURTESY POST: HELP NEEDED. We were asked by a rescue on the Pine Ridge reservation if we could find places for a few dogs, not sure on the total. One for example is a 5 month old shep mix low rider female who will be beautiful but has mange on her face. This will clear up quickly as we have already treated her twice and she is no longer contagious but needs time for the hair to grow back. She and the other dogs that can’t fit on our transport this Sunday will certainly not make it as they will get rounded up for sure. If anyone knows anyone that might be able to foster or take in a rez dog, let us know. These dogs are usually very social dogs, they follow people all over. Some have medical conditions, usually mange, which is treatable, but also contagious. If anyone has a barn or shed in which we could house one or more dogs, apart from family pets, let us know. MAR would provide food and vet care for any fosters. Once healthy, we would adopt them out or transfer them. Let us know and thank you! (We have asked for pictures) LM
