COVENIA: Please read this before ever allowing the vet to give your pet this drug! Yesterday my dog went to the vet for vomiting and weakness. He had several test. The vet asked if I could feed him antibiotics, I said "yes". We went to the store to get treats to put the antibiotics in and his harness. When we went to pick him up I asked where is meds were. The vet said they put him on an antibiotic that will last for 7 days called Covenia. He told me my dog would be out of it for 2 days, but should be fine by Monday. This morning at 4AM we took him to the Emergency 24 hour vet. He displayed 7 of these symptoms. Ataxia, Tremors, Inappentence, Seizures, Diarrhea, Salivation, Lethargy and sadly he had to be put to sleep. So the end-all was #8, death... I should have been asked if it was okay to put my pet on this drug. I should not have lost a beloved pet to such suffering. Covenia should not be on the market. Please, please, please do your research before allowing this drug to be used on your loved one.
