COVETOUSNESS & POVERTY In a worldly financial system whereby we - TopicsExpress

COVETOUSNESS & POVERTY In a worldly financial system whereby we as the "ekklesia" are governed, having to observe the laws of this system, our daily lives are definitely controlled to some extent. Influencing these laws is the spirit of mammon and it is the necessity of mammon, and the motivation of the heart, that will either keep us in truth, or lead us into falsehood. It was Solomon who said: give me neither riches or poverty, but feed me with the bread that you have prescribed for me! Did Solomon recognise his frailty, his weakness of his flesh, in the fact that he could be full and deny his God. He knew his fleshly limitations, and recognising these limitations guided the way he prayed. We are all faced with the temptation of covetousness, poverty and riches, but recognising that which lies within us, will keep us on the road of "truth", and will bear testimony to the miracle working power of God. We have a choice, either we trust God to give us his blessing, leaving the multiplication and increase to his timing, or we can become poor, steal and profane the name of our God. Prov. 30:7-9 Be encouraged today, that our God has your provision in His hands, and He will certainly come through for you as you leave it to Him. Philippians 4:11-12 Not that I speak in respect of want, for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content, I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound, every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need!
