Last night the troupes gathered and off we went to Croydon to contest 3 GF ...The atmosphere was electric and the centre was buzzing . This is what we play for ,week in week out ! 1st up we had our mixed div 1 & 2s playing side by side ...The boss lady & I were pacing ...This was it , no second chances , glory was there for the taking . Micka ( steam train ) Saker once said to me ONLY 1GAME COUNTS Mixed 2s played the game of their lives ...This team had its 1st season together and what did they go & do ...WIN a GF ...The game was close till the very end with the score being even and then it happened ...Luke , Nellie , Erin , Greg , Kristy , Paige , Brenton & captain Lu dug deep ....Hang on ...The steam train was on the next court leading his team to victory ...The 2s were like 7 Michael Sakers running around on 1 court playing super fantastic netball ...YAY Werribee by 8 !!! Div 1 mixed ...The Venice Simplon put in ANOTHER super performance ...WHAT A TEAM ! The steam train commanded this win tonight ...Werribees no 1 fan , Dean the backstop Giarrusso & Jessie started on the bench letting Josh , Katie , Brides , the steam train Saker , K ( superstar umpire at Werribee ),Werribees pocket rocket Izzy , & Mark the Statue of Liberty Copley give us the start we needed ...GAME OVER ! The opposition were bewildered at what was going on before them ...This team doesnt give you an inch is an understatement ...Changes were made in the second half with the backstop coming on with Jessie ... The game starts & POW its over !!! Werribee by 24 Ladies 1 ...Pressure pressure pressure ...We had just won 2 and we needed our ladies to bring home a clean sweep ! The game was unbelievable ...the girls were down by 9 in a matter of minutes . This is not suppose to be happening !! The girls dug deep and brought the score back to evens and then it was game on ! The pocket rocket tripped over her own feet and was out of the game ...The girls swung into action with Katie , Coops , Rennie , Brides , K , Ash & Jessie playing the game of their lives ...2 min to go the scores are Werribee up by 2 ...Turnover after turnover... Im hyper ventilating and need to go outside for air whilst counting down in my head so I go back in with seconds to go ..44 seconds on the clock ...WOOOO HOOOO WE DID IT , WERRIBEE BY 3 IM NOT FINISHED YET !
