CRADLEY UP FOR THE CUP CRADLEY continue the defence of their Knockout Cup with a mouthwatering local derby semi-final tie against Coventry at Monmore on Tuesday (7.30). The Heathens have just secured top spot in the National League for the fourth time in five seasons and are the stand-out team at that level. Boss Will Pottinger is looking for a big lead for his team as they face their rivals, who have secured runners-up spot in the regular league standings. No date has been arranged for the return leg at this stage. He said: “Coventry will be a good test for us. They have got riders who are capable of doing well around Monmore, but we’ll still be looking to build up a decent lead to take to Brandon for the Knockout Cup second leg, whenever that may be. “Stoke or King’s Lynn await the winners in the final and we would love to do it again.” Pottinger has also revealed how the club are expected to name their play-off opponents by the weekend. He said: “We just need to look at various aspects of the play-off system and who we would want to face in the semi-finals. “It’s a great achievement for us to finish top of the table once again but we need to keep everyone fit and available to go on and complete the job.” CRADLEY: Steve Worrall, Nathan Greaves, Max Clegg, Tom Perry, Paul Starke, Matt Williamson, Danny Phillips. COVENTRY: Oliver Greenwood, Stefan Nielsen R/R, Luke Priest, Dan Greenwood, James Sarjeant, Ryan Terry-Daley, Martin Knuckey.
