CRAZY panniered Victor Costa 50s style dress. Im a bit of a Vivienne Westwood beast and this dress has very similar construction to a couple of Westwood gowns I own. Full cabbage rose type print. Boned bustier type bodice which goes from the bustline with a looooooong section (imagine an elongated front stomacher type dress panel) ending at the front hem. The back is constructed in much the same way. On either side of an internal underskirt are two panniers, like the sort of dresses in the 1600s. Both have interior netting to fill out the shape. This dress is insane in the best way possible. The construction is INTENSE. At some point, someone (might have been me, dont entirely recall) has tacked in an unlovely modern white zip. TBH I think it was badly tacked in when I got it and I just secured it not very well.. I would take it out and put a black one fitted in. Grosgrain type bows on side of dress above panniers 17 across bust - 34 12 1/2 across waist 25 32 length from upward top curve of bustier to hem. £28 + £4 p&p in the Uk. More elsewhere.
