CRIME UPDATE - LOOK AFTER YOU BAG. I want to alert you to a few reports over the past few days of purses going missing from open handbags. The latest purse went missing from the Cafe Blac, Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn between the hours of 6.00 and 7.00 pm on the 25th June after the victim left her handbag on a chair, unattended for just a few moments. Not only did the offender get the purse but also gained access to credit cards and the victim’s identity. This offending is opportunistic and perpetrators’ are quick so it’s important that you maintain security of your belongings at all times. We hope to get some CCTV footage of this offence and we will post it if it adds value. Please in the meantime secure you personal belongings when out.
