CRIME WATCH: Mattoon Police and Coles County Crimestoppers request public assistance and offer a $500.00 reward for help in solving a Home Invasion and Armed Robbery that occurred on Saturday March 15th at approximately 6:00 A.M. Two white males entered a home in the 200 block of South 30th street and detained a family therein. The family was robbed at gunpoint. Money was taken. A firearm was discharged during the crime. The suspects are described as follows; White Male, approx.. 6’ tall, 150-175 pounds. Large nose. Late teens or early twenties. Blue jeans, dark coat or hooded sweatshirt, brown boots, gloves. White Male, approx.. 5’10”, 130-150 pounds, possibly a teenager. One suspect had shorter, light brown hair with a bit of a wave to it. A bald spot was starting on top of his head. Anyone with information in regards to the crime is requested to contact the Mattoon Police Department by phone at 235-5451, or messaging via Facebook. Callers may remain anonymous and will qualify for a $500.00 cash reward via Crimestoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this crime.
