CRUCIAL CONVERGENCE OF PLAYERS FOR NEW ZIMBABWE By Itai - TopicsExpress

CRUCIAL CONVERGENCE OF PLAYERS FOR NEW ZIMBABWE By Itai Dzamara The die is cast. Our task is clearly cut before us. The Robert Mugabe bandwagon (that is the best way to describe it) has just turned another corner, yet again towards nowhere and carrying the nation on its back – there should no longer be any hope for an end to the vicious cycle of crisis through this outfit. That eloquently presents our task and responsibility. And, the question remains, whether or not we have surrendered, as a nation, to the dastardly selfishness and failure of the Mugabe outfit, which has reduced our nation to a permanent state of failure? I call it the Mugabe outfit because, the wanton violation of the law at almost every turn during the past 15 years is clearly devoid of any pretence at upholding organizational decency or national order and rule of law. The ongoing rigmarole of power struggles within the Mugabe outfit is clearly emblematic of very deliberate and unbridled lust for, not only dying in power and with the nation on the part of Robert Mugabe, but also barbarically capturing political and state power by his dynasty, now fronted by Mugabe’s wife, Grace. No, the nation of Zimbabwe cannot and should not afford such naked madness any longer. We should not fold our hands and watch such barbaric dragging of our lives to the bottom of the sea. For, to all purposes and intents, there is no doubt about the fact that whatever the Mugabe outfit does or whatever number of recycling and reshuffling of useless dead material it does, blatant failure is guaranteed. That is the heart of the matter. That is the case for us, and very urgently requiring our attention. We have drawn a line in the sand and, from very humble and courageous attempts the Occupy Africa Unity Square (OAUS) Movement has become a reality. Oh yes, we laid down the gauntlet and made clear our position of committing towards ending the national farce being presided over by the Mugabe outfit. It is our duty and responsibility because we are the owners of our lives and the country of Zimbabwe. We announced our presence and have proved that we mean business about commitment towards standing up to demand that Robert Mugabe and his acolytes stop taking our nation to their graves. The Mugabe outfit and state departments loudly heard our call and demands. They felt the effect of our resolve to practical and effective action of various forms – all done consistently within the confines of the law and upholding our values of civil, peaceful and resolute means. Now, without any doubting or equivocation, we are moving forward with the crucial engagements of other key players, to establish basis for collaboration and collective efforts towards standing up and demanding an end to the Mugabe outfit’s destruction of our nation. We are pleased and inspired by a lot of progress. We have engaged political parties, including the MDC-T, ZAPU, Progressive Democrats of Zimbabwe (PDZ), DARE, MKD, Transform Zimbabwe and Ndonga. It is amazing and encouraging that everyone is in agreement about the need for convergence of all the forces towards standing up against the Mugabe outfit’s failure. Shepherd Sibanda, the MKD youth leader has been fired up since we engaged his party three weeks ago, and insists the time is now. Yesterday I met MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai and found him ever more inspired to stand up for an end to the Mugabe outfit’s failure. I had a chat with firebrand politician Job Sikhala, whose every word is pregnant with desire for the masses joining hands to put an end to the Mugabe outfit’s failure. I have been constantly engaging PDZ leader Barbara Nyagomo, who is also unequivocal about the task at hand for all Zimbabweans , of dragging our country from the clutches of the Mugabe outfit’s failure. Elvis Mugari, the DARE youth treasurer has become a permanent member of the OAUS Movement and leading from the front during protests. Others from DARE have followed Mugari and fully in the groove. ZAPU leaders have made it clear that they are in full support and solidarity with our commitment towards civil, peaceful and resolute action for demanding an end to the national failure presided over by the Mugabe outfit. We are embarking on a mission of engaging other political parties and leaderships in the coming weeks, towards culminating into coming together of all the forces, to plan and chart the way forward. The Zimbabwe National Students Union (Zinasu) is already on the ground for action, together with the OAUS Movement. We are engaging residents associations, the labour movements as well as other civic society players. The time is now, for us to prove leadership and come out of our little corners or territories to put Zimbabwe before everything else. That requires true leaders humbling themselves, choosing sacrifice and working together with all the other players towards a better Zimbabwe. I have no doubt now, that this approach will bring the forces together and force the Mugabe outfit to listen to the people demands for it to stop its silly games of destroying the nation. We are emphasizing to the other players that this is not a matter of pride, glory nor fame for any individual nor group, but it is an urgent matter for all of us to stand up, united, and stop the national crisis as well as reclaim the people’s dignity from the failed Mugabe outfit. It is encouraging to note that there is genuine and sincere desire as well as commitment by most of the players and leaders. Soon, we should reveal and announce tangible steps towards effectively moving forward together, as united national players standing up for a better Zimbabwe. There is no other option for us, if we want to end the national crisis and start a new page for the people of Zimbabwe – the vast majority who are clear about the terrible failure of Robert Mugabe and his outfit. We should take a committed stance to pursue every possible route and channel that challenges the Mugabe regime’s failure, violations and abuse of the masses. For that reason, I applauded NCA leader Lovemore Madhuku’s challenging of Mugabe’s blatant violation of the law in his smashing and grabbing of members of his outfit to manage his power games. They may appear little and ineffective, but it is such steps, that will accumulate towards making the powerful effect and push. I am continuously insisting to the other players and leaders that I have been there and am convinced that it can be done. The time is now and the way is clear, because; We are the people! We are the numbers! Let’s go!
