CRY FOR KANEM BORNO last night since around 11:35pm, the residents of Maiduguri started hearing sounds of explosions. The sounds was so loud that many residents could not sleep, and the Civilian JTF were going street by street alerting the people that they should wake up and be on alert. A leader in the state who is currently in Abuja called and inform me that Maiduguri is under attack by boko haram. I was saddened by the news and i could not sleep again, i was imagining how those who may be close to the front line are feeling, i prayed for Allah to save the innocent people of my dear state. In the morning it was even worst, though before the day break, the situation was a bit calm. I even drive to the GRA area within the city, it was on my way back that i came across one of the most disturbing situation i have ever seen. I saw hundreds or even thousands of people traking and trooping in to the city center from the direction of Kano, Jos road. I saw children, women, and even the old people traking and crying at the same time. I parked my car and i almost bust into tears, i saw an old woman with her grand children three of them, and she was almost collapsing. Luckily when i ask her where she was going, it happens that she was going along my direction and i gladly gave them a ride. The grandma told me that they trekked from Dala Alamderi up to the old welcome to Maiduguri roundabout where i picked them. Throughtout the drive, i could not look at the woman because i was filled with emotions. It was at that point that i ask my self one of the questions that up to today nobody has ever given me an convincing answer to it. What have we done to deserve this? Why Borno? Why northern Nigeria? Are we paying for a crime we knew nothing about or what? But then i remember that there is conclusion that i always arrived at. Allah has a way of tasting his servants, and these is a taste for the people of Borno, and indeed northern Nigeria. There is no doubt that for every beginning, there must be and end. One day it will all be history, but the history will always remember the current leadership of Nigeria for their failure to protect the citizens of Borno. History will also remember those who are regarded as leaders in Borno who fail to tell the federal govt the through situation out of mischief and greed for wealth and power. History will also remember the positive contributions of some of our leaders who have been standing and providing leadership to our people,Those who never run away from the people, those who have always been with the people in their trial period. As it stand today, Monguno which is the nerve center of northern Borno has been taken over by boko haram adding to those alread under the control of these beasts. The attack yesterday and this morning was a well planned attempt to take over the whole of Borno and subject us to slavery. But Allah has helped us through the galant military and the Civilian JTF who were operating under the most difficult situations. May Allah Always be with them and grant them victory against these forces of darkness who want impose their will on us. As for those who are using us as pawns in their political chase game, may the wrath of Allah descend on them. As they refuse to give us peace, may Allah not give them peace. May they rest in hell with all those animals they are using to kill us just to achieve whatever interest they have.
