CSC: Personally, [assuming the existence of their Allah] surely he doesnt give two hoots, from what angle his [alleged] presence in the Kaaba is seen from? Apart from which Saudis increasing tendency towards bigger and bigger buildings is surely indicative of their wealth and power [in an oily sense] and I often wonder how their God feels about this, as it seems somewhat contradictory to other perceptions of him? Further on in the article, we even have this religious zealot Gormez condemning those who pray only for themselves during the Haji pilgrimage...how does he establish and know this? Considering the hundreds of thousands that converge on Mecca...he is able to establish that many only pray for themselves Or is this a case of assumption...? Say something that is likely to stir the conscience of many to bring them back to conformity. I guess a directive to pray for the collective good [but only amongst Muslims] could be an attempt for positive thinking to effect the outcome...thus aiding Turkeys many problems? How, can rational people digest this crap and respond accordingly?** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From article: The head of Turkey’s top religious authority has slammed Saudi Arabia over construction projects in Mecca, arguing that the holiest shrine of Muslims had been “overshadowed” by skyscrapers in a way that violates cultural norms and “destroys history.” “I told the Saudi minister of the Hajj that it is considered wrong in our culture to look down on the Kaaba. ‘Then how did you look over it while traveling with an aircraft [over Mecca],’ the Saudi minister asked me. Well, this is another point of view,” Professor Dr. Mehmet Görmez, the head of Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), told a group of journalists in Mecca on Sept. 29.
