CSlogy ( Common Sense ) Another day is half way through . Soon we are welcoming the evening . Let us review : Have we lost in our own thoughts, caught between the fantasy world of our future and the cold, harsh reality of the present moment ? Have we experienced unpleasant state where nothing truly exists ? How does it feel? Frustrating, isn’t it? We truly spend every waking moment relentlessly pursuing our goals. We leave no stone unturned in our quest for greatness. We become obsessed with the idea of change, of being a different person, of leaving this empty shell behind and transcending into what we have always believed what we could be. Let us take a deep breath and relax… Let us think about , recall some stories , sharings of successful people have in common above all else. Sure they work hard , smart and with heart to pursue their goals, but there is another, less spoken about basic powerful strategy which we can start using right away…………. It’s called “common sense “. We can make drastic changes to our life by just following these 4 simple rules… 1. Results are only possible through actions We can do anything with our life. We can become whoever we want to be, travel anywhere we want to go and spend our free time doing whatever makes us happy. But there is one thing we cannot do. We cannot achieve anything without dedication. We cannot change our life without putting in the time, without putting in the effort and without putting up with the setbacks required to master our chosen craft. If we want to learn Chinese then we must start speaking Chinese. If we want to lose weight then we must lower our calories and exercise regularly. If we want a better paid job then we have to put in the effort to find another. There are no shortcuts. If we want different results then do something different. 2. Use the 80/20 rule to focus on the important things Time is flying constantly and never come back. We could be a successful entrepreneur with an 80 hours workweek. We could be an unemployed drop out who rises from the nap at 3 in the afternoon. We could be any of the 7 billions people who roam this earth, each with a different agenda, a different set of circumstances, but the end result is always the same : 24 hours. That’s all we have. 24 hours to work, rest and play or eat, pray, love …… Are we making the most of our day? There is an easier way to free up more time and focus on the important tasks. It’s called the 80/20 rule – known as the Pareto Principle. Here’s how it works; ▪ 80% of sales will come from just 20% of the clients – so we should target these 20% first before moving on to the rest. ▪ 80% of our salary will be spent on just 20% of our expenses – so if we want to save money, focus on reducing something within that 20%. ▪ 80% of our happiest memories will come from just 20% of our friends – so look forward to hanging out with these people who are really delivering over the 80% of happiness if we want a more fulfilling life. A lot of our time is either spent on meaningless tasks or focusing on areas that aren’t important. Give our life a spring clean and we would be amazed at the difference. 3. If the reward is higher than the risk – go for it We feel scared. But it’s ok because being scared is a part of our life. It’s normal. It’s evolutionary. Without our ability to feel fear, to flee in the presence of danger or to know when it’s best to take a step back and live to fight another say; we simply wouldn’t exist. But in the modern world, many of these fears are no longer relevant. We experience fear when deciding to take up a job offer , purchase order , loan , proposal , business pitch. We experience fear when asking someone out on a date. We experience fear whenever we take one small step outside of our comfort zone. But why are we terrified of trying something new? What’s the worst that can happen? The sooner we make a mistake, the quicker we have to recover. Take a chance, a calculated risk. We might surprise ourselves. 4. Life’s too short – stop doing the things we hate. Think back to this morning, specifically, the precise moment our alarm clock announced the arrival of a new day with its screaming tones of uncertainties. How did we feel? Did we leap out of bed with endless excitement and anticipation? Or were we cowering under the covers with an overwhelming sense of restless ? This was our life for most people nowadays. We are reluctant waking up each day because we had nothing good to wake up to. “My job was a minimum wage stitch-up of insignificant proportions. My relationships were filled with repetition and a horrible sensation of discontent and loneliness. My future was a nightmare waiting to happen, a nightmare I was terrified of facing, a nightmare that should have been a realization of my dreams.” ( hope these are not us ) There comes a time when enough is enough. Let us quit spending time with people who were dragging us down. If we don’t like something; stop what we are doing and get out of present unpleasant stage. It’s common sense. It is our life , we are the CEO of AmazingMe.Inc, use our commonsenselogy to welcome better life ahead ! Have a wonderful commonsensing journey !
