CUEBALL CARMICHAEL & WHAT YOU DON’T SEE: What you don’t see when you see me on Facebook or at a wrestling show is this, I am a wrestler, a professional wrestler in 30+ years properly trained not once but twice, I have traveled hundreds of thousands of miles had matches that I am sure number in the thousands. Been in the ring with true legends in this business and call many of them friends. When you see me in the ring and say wow what a life, you’re right it is a great life, but it is a very hard life. I have driven at my own expense over the years to do many benefits, I have helped raise money for cancer victims, slain police officers, Firemen, service men and those injured serving our country and communities, Toys For Tots, food drives and anything I was ever asked to do, I have never SAID NO, it’s part of giving back, you MUST do this. What you don’t see is the 5 days before your seeing me I drove 500 miles one way to get here to do my best to entertain you for those 10 minutes, I spent four 90 minutes sessions at the gym, I tanned 3 times, I am nursing a torn medial collateral ligament in my right knee, my left shoulder is partially separated and has been nagging me for 4 years, my back has been broken three times at L-3, last year I found out I had a fractured C-4, broken over 10 years ago, I saw the chiropractor twice last week. During the last 5 days I worked four 10 hour days at a “regular” job, I took my daughter to karate twice, I paid the bills, took the car to the shop and when my wife asked, Honey when is enough, enough? I sat her down looked into her eyes and said honey I told you 11 years ago this is who I am and what I do, as tears flowed down her face I wiped them away and said what baby? she said I see you have trouble getting out of bed, you don’t sleep more than an hour or two before you get up and have to move around, I hear your joints pop when you walk you can hardly turn your head and I just feel bad for you I know you think your Superman, but you’re not, your human, I say it’s Okay honey don’t feel bad this is my life, our life, the life I chose, the life you accepted, she nods and says I know honey. These are the things you don’t see the things I don’t want you to see, the things you don’t need to see. To me this is just a part of who WE are and what WE do, this is what being a 25+ year professional wrestling veteran is, I signed up for this, I seek no sympathy, I am still today as passionate as I was year one, I love what I do, it’s not easy someone once said, your right “nothing worth anything is easy” I agree make no mistake I did what I do first because I love it, I wanted to do this but what has kept me out there is two very crucial things, the brotherhood of men and women I share this profession with and the big one, the fans the people that pay to see me they deserve my best and make no mistake when the singlet, knee pads and boots go on, Chris becomes Cueball Carmichael I never phone it in thats not in my nature, I give everything, many guys have seen me come in after the match and collapse for a couple of minutes because I leave it all out there, thats my obligation to the fans and I am a Proud of that and to be a just a Professional Wrestler.
