CUP RUN CONTINUES FOR ENNISKILLEN YOUTH TEAMS Enniskillen Under 15s continued their tremendous season on Saturday with a convincing win over Coleraine RFC at the Cran in Fivemiletown, thus ensuring a home Semi Final Vrs Cavan RFC in the Ulster Carpets Plate competition next Saturday 12th of April with an 11am kick off. This weekends game showed how well the team have progressed this year and are working together as an integrated unit. From the kick off our strong pack imposed themselves with Jack Makee supported by Jamie Kelly making the hard yards into the oppositions 22 before being tackled just ten meters from Coleraine,s line however quick clearing out allowed scrum half Josh Kyle to pick up and score under the posts, the added conversion by out half Jarlath Maguire brought the score up to 7. Conceding this early in the game gave the visitors a wake up call and they started to use their back line more effectively and putting pressure on Skins defense, with strong runs and well directed kicks into the Enniskillen half, these were superbly fielded by Fullback Micheal O,Hare who,s positional play and decision making has improved greatly over the season. After several phases of play the next score really illustrated the improvement the team have made with once again good carrying of the ball by the forwards into contact then concise passing through the backs to allow Owen McGovern to power over for the five points which Maguire added the conversion to leave it 14 nil after ten minutes. The Enniskillen pack increased the pressure on their opposition and after an excellent strike in the scrum by Hooker David Patton to take their feed Young Kelly was not to be denied his score as he broke three tackles and powered over the line, once again Jarlath stroked over for the additional two, leaving it 21 to nil at the half way mark. After just five minutes of the second half play was interrupted by an injury to a Coleraine player and this seemed to galvanize the young visiting players who must be applauded for really getting stuck in and not giving up,they repeatedly tried to break down the Enniskillen defense and it was from such a move that the next score came. From a Coleraine scrum their scrum half passed to the left wing who broke from his own 22 down the touch line showing good pace, but not quick enough to evade the tackle of Chris Burns allowing Tyler Millar to jackle the ball and sprint the 30 meters to add to his impressive seasons tally again the trusty boots of Captain Maguire added the conversion. The last score more than any illustrates how this team has progressed into a strong unit which does,nt just relay on the undoubted skills of messers Millar, Maguire McGovern and Eoin Cleary (out injured for Saturdays game) when young David Patton was rewarded for his hard work in the scrums and mauls by getting his first try which came after sustained pressure in the corner allowed him to push over the line and round off an excellent win for Enniskillen with the final score 33 to nil. So why not come out and support both the under 13s and the under 15s at Mullaghmeen next Saturday as they try and secure a place in the Final, with home advantage its possible Enniskillen could have two teams looking to bring home some silverware.
