In addition, there will be outreach to members on local union activities and opportunities for the public to socialize with members and learn more about CUPE. Healthy diets high in fresh, local produce best support learning outcomes for students and quality living for workers. The market will bring high quality food to educational members, introducing an alternative food supply to the large grocery store chains. The Good Food Fair seeks to develop an affordable and healthy food market that supports the long-term viability of local farms, farming as an occupation, and preserves farmland in Ontario keeping us all food secure. By spending their dollars locally at the farmers’ market pilot, CUPE 4400 members will generate a 10-fold increase in economic activity promoting prosperity and autonomy for rural agricultural workers who will re-invest those earned dollars in their local economies. Long-term Goal: Connecting farms to schools The first step is to bring educational workers and farmers together with the The Good Food Fair pilot market
