When one is paddling a canoe it can feel like you are riding on the back of a loon. The Ojibway or Anishinaabe people were canoe people. The Loon Clan is considered one of the Leadership clans. This is far more than just a canoe trip....but a chance for our youth to spend time with Elders....back on the land....and help create future leaders at the same time. Taking a canoe trip certainly gets one back to basics….and in the case of Anishinaabe even back to one’s traditions. This is very true for the young people that will be involved. Not just following a canoe route....but finding ones roots too. QUALIFYING ROUND 3 OF THE AVIVA COMMUNITY FUND HAS BEGUN....RUNS UNTIL NOVEMBER 24TH THIS IS THE LAST OPPORTUNITY TO QUALIFY FOR THE SEMI-FINALS. THE LAST GO-ROUND AS IT WERE.
