CUZZIES FOREVER I grew up with the craziest bunch of cousins. It was like birds of the same feather squawk together. If you see one, you would see all of us in the same flock. All would mean like twenty five of us in solidarity and cahooting over our secret missions...unmentionable to our parents. Mainly girls, we never lacked in adventure and fun. There would always be something planned under our sleeve for us to get together at grannys humongous stilt house or rumah panggung for the weekend. Fashion parades, wedding shows, beauty pageants, picnics, barbeque, learning journeys, lotto games, dating, masak-masak time, pyjamas sleep in, kite flying, holiday trips and flower power parties under the kampung moonlight were events that glued us together. We would also wait for each other to open grannys wooden latch door if one of us had passed the curfew hours. We did not mind taking the scolding and blame for each other. United we stand. Divided we fall. Though many members of the cousin bunch have made their second home on foreign lands, the closeness and bond we have built since young still remain strong. We make time to meet at every opportunity.....to relive our craziest younger days. This raya we have Nina from Scotland and Norma from Sweden joining us. Recently we had Haslina from Chicago who shrieked us to death. And what do we talk about when we meet? The good old stories with bagfuls of laughter which are still fresh in our mind.
