CWA MEMBERS AND FRIENDS. By now you should have received your run off ballot for Sec/Treas of our Local. I hope you have made your decision and cast your vote for me . For those that have not yet voted, please remember that voting in these elections is not only a privilege, it is your duty as members of the Local Union to vote your convictions in all elections and matters submitted to vote (Local 6171 Bylaws Article II, section 4.) Please fulfill your obligation to vote regardless of your choice of candidate. Exercise your right to voice your opinion and have a say in the process. Also there is apparently some confusion amongst some of the members about these elected positions. Let me be clear on this and share the facts with all the members you talk to. THESE ELECTED POSITIONS ARE ALL TEMPORARY POSITIONS! There are no permanent or long haul positions as some have indicated. It doesnt matter if its for 8 mos. as is the case here, or a full elected 3 year term. They are ALL temporary. So please vote. The Local will conduct this democratic process again in the fall.
