CWE Specialist Officer: Eligibility and exam pattern Eligibility criteria Please note that the eligibility criteria specified is the basic criteria for applying to various Public Sector Banks. However merely applying for CWE/ appearing for the examination does not imply that a candidate will necessarily be eligible for employment in all or any of the 19 Public Sector Banks as each Bank will stipulate its own eligibility/ qualifying criteria. Educational qualification IT Officer (Scale I/II): Degree in Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology/ Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunications/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation OR Post Graduate Degree in Electronics/ Electronics & Tele Communication/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications from a recognized University/ Institution OR Graduate from a recognized university having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level. For Scale II I year minimum qualification required. Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I): Degree in Agriculture or allied specializations such as Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/ Dairy Science/ Agri. Engineering/ Fishery Science/ Pisciculture/ Agri Marketing & Cooperation etc. from recognized university. Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I): A post Graduate Degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree level OR a post graduate degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at the degree level. Law Officer (Scale I/II): A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB). For Scale II minimum 3 years experience of practice at Bar or Judicial service and/or Law Officer in the Legal Dept. of a reputed Bank or the Central/State Government or of a Public Sector Undertaking with practice at Bar. Technical Officer (Scale I): Degree in Engineering in Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Production/ Metallurgy/ Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunication/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Textile/ Chemical etc./ B.Pharm. HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I): Graduate from a recognized university and Post Graduate degree or diploma recognized by AICTE in Personnel Management / Industrial Relations/ HRD/Social Work / Labour Law OR Degree/Diploma in Business Administration/ Management with specialization in HRD from a recognized University. Marketing Officer (Scale I): MBA (Marketing)/2 years PGDBA/PGDBM or any other equivalent degree or diploma with specialization in Marketing from a recognized University/ Institution. Exam pattern For Law Officer Scale I & II and Rajbhasha Adhikari Scale I 1. Reasoning: 50 questions of 50 marks 2. English Language: 50 questions of 25 marks 3. Professional knowledge: 50 questions of 75 marks 4. General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry): 50 questions of 50 marks Total: 200 marks (Duration: 2 hours) For Specialist Officers - IT Officer (Scale I), Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I), Technical Officer (Scale I), HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I), Marketing Officer (Scale I), IT Officer (Scale II) 1. Reasoning: 50 questions of 50 marks 2. English Language: 50 questions of 25 marks 3. Professional knowledge: 50 questions of 75 marks 3. Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions of 50 marks Total: 200 marks (Duration: 2 hours) The Test paper will be objective – multiple type questions. The above tests except the Test of English Language will be printed bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi. There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Test. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer, i.e. if fraction exceeds by 0.50 or more, it will be rounded off to next higher integer. If for any question a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as wrong even if one of the given answers happens to be right and there will be the same penalty of 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question deducted as penalty. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is given by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question. Nationality/Citizenship A candidate must be either: - A citizen of India, or - A subject of Nepal, or - A subject of Bhutan, or - A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or - A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Age: Minimum 18 Years; Maximum 28 Years The maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates. - IT Officer (Scale I): Minimum 20 yrs, maximum 35 yrs - Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I): Minimum 20 yrs, maximum 35 yrs - Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I): Minimum 20 yrs, maximum 35 yrs - Law Officer (Scale I): Minimum 20 yrs, maximum 35 yrs - Technical Officer (Scale I): Minimum 20 yrs, maximum 35 yrs - HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I): Minimum 20 yrs, maximum 35 yrs - Marketing Officer (Scale I): Minimum 20 yrs, maximum 35 yrs - IT Officer (Scale II): Minimum 21 yrs, maximum 40 yrs - Law Officer (Scale II): Minimum 21 yrs, maximum 40 yrs Relaxation of upper age limit - Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years - Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years - Persons With Disabilities: 10 years - Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including/Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within 5 years the stipulated time) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment: 5 years - Employees of any participating Bank: 5 years - Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989: 5 years - Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years NOTE: In case of a candidate who is eligible for relaxation under more than one of the above categories the age relaxation will be available on a cumulative basis with any one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted as mentioned above.
