CYBERBULLYING Amanda Todd was a 17 year old girl in Vancouver - TopicsExpress

CYBERBULLYING Amanda Todd was a 17 year old girl in Vancouver who committed suicide one month after posting a YouTube video calling for help. She used cue cards to tell her story, which involved an interaction with a stranger online who eventually convinced her to give him a topless photo. The stranger soon learned a lot of information about her and threatened to send the picture to people she knew if she didn’t cooperate. She developed depression and anxiety, lost her friends, and had to move schools twice because of the bullying she faced in real life. In this case, what started everything was just one man, but this isn’t always the case. Simple comments and rumor-spreading by peers are the most common form of cyberbullying, and about half of teens today experience it in some form, with ten to twenty percent experiencing it regularly.
