Cadets will be among the volunteers collecting for this year’s Poppy Appeal in Stockton. The Stockton and Yarm Branch of the Royal British Legion will be collecting in the Stockton, Yarm, Thornaby and Norton areas until Saturday, November 9 from 9.30am-3pm each day. A poppy collection table will be situated in the Stockton’s Castlegate Shopping Centre and collecting will also take place at Tesco on Durham Road. Saturday collections, mainly by cadets, will be held in the towns’ high streets and at several major stores around the area. Once again there will also be a Garden of Remembrance in the grounds of Stockton Parish Church. To volunteer for the appeal call 01642 589365.
