Cadetships at the ABC The program offers a number of positions, where the successful applicants are offered a one-year training contract and will be trained as journalists for radio, television and online news. Applicants should have appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or some relevant media experience and potential. Applicants must have initiative, well-developed research and writing skills and good communication skills. A broadcast quality voice is essential. A demonstrated interest in news and current affairs is required as is a familiarity with all ABC News output. You must also be able to work well in a team and take direction. People of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent are encouraged to apply. Work Experience programs As the national public broadcaster, the ABC has historically provided high quality training for the television, radio, new media and digital services industries.
