Cadre Dan-GORUCK Tough Rucktards….Pictured is the memorial patch for CW2 Cantrell. This looks familiar to a lot of you since this is the second time it’s being offered onto the GRT FB page. Just to give you some wave tops…..CW2 Cantrell and I served together in the same company in 3rd SFG. Great guy that was a family man and I spent a lot of time on deployments bullshitting with him as he was a wealth of knowledge and a subject matter expert at all things Green Beret. A little over two years ago his house caught on fire. He and his wife jumped out of the second story bedroom window to escape the fire. His wife went for help, he grabbed a blanket and went in after his two daughters and unfortunately……He never made it back out. He and his two daughters died in the fire. To this day I think about him and I get a little choked up when I think of him, throwing that blanket over his head and running into a burning house to save his daughters. I can tell you that CW2 is a hero, somebody I look up to and God forbid if that day ever arrives, I hope I will be just as brave as CW2 Cantrell. This patch to me is a constant reminder of everything that is right in this country. CW2 Cantrell is a man, a hero, a brother and somebody that everybody should try and emulate. The wife of CW2 Cantrell has started a non-profit organization called The Dancing Angels Foundation. The foundation is set up in memorial of CW2 Cantrell’s daughters who had a love of all things dancing. The money goes to people that due to financial constraints, would not be able to facilitate their young daughters in the joy of dancing. More information is on the FB page as well as the website. Justin Evoe and Bob Everson….two men that this community specifically should emulate are spearheading the efforts to raise as much money and awareness as possible.
