Full Job Description: Your Potential Employer; Time for Youth is an incorporated not for profit agency with the aim of minimising homelessness and creating opportunities with young people and their families, operating in the Barwon Region since 1987 and is a key provider of services for vulnerable young people aged 10 - 25 and their families. Services provided by Time for Youth include crisis and transitional accommodation, housing support, information, referral to the wider service network and innovative youth and family interventions as well as a range of other initiatives to assist young people to develop their sense of belonging, self worth and their connection to family and the community. The Role: The Café Meals Program is a philanthropic funded initiative which supports young people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or otherwise vulnerable by specifically focusing on improving their access to food and nutrition as an essential component of their broader welfare. The Café Meals Business & Community Engagement Officer takes responsibility for all business development and promotion activities on behalf of Time for Youth. This is a unique autonomous role that is critical to the ongoing success of the Café Meals Program. The predominant focus of this position, approximately 80%, is on business development and promotion activities for the program, with the remaining 20% of the time devoted to the administrative responsibilities. The Business & Community Engagement Officer will be the reference point with respect to preparation of financial reporting, budget preparation and other operational matters. The Café Meals Business & Community Engagement Officer will report to the Finance Manager and will be part of the Time for Youth Corporate Service team. This role is 0.4 EFT (12 months fixed term). You: To be successful in gaining this position you will ideally meet the following criteria: - Must have Diploma level or above in Community Development, Business - Administration or equivalent and 2 years experience in a similar role - Must have a Working With Childrens Check, or if appointed the role, be willing to obtain and pay for 50% of a Working With Childrens Check - Must have a National Police Check - Must have a Victorian Drivers License - Understanding of issues confronting vulnerable and /or disadvantaged young people and their families - Knowledge of food security and associated general health issues - Demonstrated experience in project execution and business acumen - Demonstrated experience in business development including preparation and procurement of sponsorships, fundraising and grant writing - Knowledge in ICT and use of social media - Demonstrated ability to manage and develop networks and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and stakeholders as well as willingness to engage with the local community - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and show initiative and innovation in all aspects of the operations of the position - Commitment to, and understanding of Time for Youths mission and values.
