Cahir Credit Union have had an eventful Summer for its members. The landmark 10,000th account was opened during the last month and a special presentation was made to the lucky member. That new member was Miss Ella Byron, from Ballydrehid. At just one month old she is also the youngest member of the Credit Union. A presentation of Prize Bonds and €500 was made to Ella and her parents Orla and Michael Byron by the manager of Cahir Credit Union Denis Hartnett and the Membership Officer Mrs Patricia Keating at a special ceremony in the offices of the Credit Union. Ella is the fifth generation of her family to be a Member of Cahir Credit Union, her great great grandfather Dan Conway, was an original member at the foundation of the Credit Union in 1969. The Credit Union continues its support and sponsorship of local sporting and cultural organisations with the sponsoring of jerseys for the local Cahir G.A.A. Ladies Football Under 12 team. The jerseys bearing the Credit Union name were presented to Mr. Liam Shinnock, Chairman of Cahir Ladies football, committee members and the team at a open air presentation outside the Credit Union offices during July. A large number of players, family members and friends were in attendance at the handover, in bright sunshine. We wish the under 12s luck in their future games. The Credit Union has noticed a large increase in the number of new members joining and availing of the many services now available at Cahir Credit Union. A friendly and confidential service is assured to all new and existing members. Secure Savings, access to low cost loans, insurance facilities as well as Paypoint and Foreign Exchange are available in our offices. [The Nationalist ]
