This is always an enjoyable afternoon’s entertainment so if you are free the main field is the place to be. There is a change of date for the GAA fun week-camp it is a week later starting on the 21st of July to the 25th of July. Well done also to the club scor contestants who did really well in the county finals last Sunday. Erin O Regan was second in the solo singing and the ballad group of Aoife Cashman, Niamh McKenna, Erin O Regan, Siobhan Long and Leah Fitzgearld were also second in what was an extremely competitive competition. Many thanks also to Paula for all her work. Cahir CAMOGIE CLUB Last weekend was a hectic one for Cahir Camogie Club. On Saturday morning the season kicked off with training for Under 16s, Minors and Juniors in Duneske. On Sunday we had our Coffee Morning and Cake Sale, which proved to be a very sociable occasion and also raised badly needed funds for the club. Thanks to all our bakers, helpers and those who supported it on the day. The winners of our raffle were 1st Emily Fitzpatrick, 2nd Ciara Brennan, 3rd Donagh Keating and 4th Joe Ahearne. On Sunday afternoon some of our younger members were on stage at Halla na Feile, Cashel representing Cahir at the Scor na bPaisti Finals. Well done to them all and to Paula for all her work The 6 weeks of Camogie Coaching is progressing very well at Our Lady of Mercy Primary School. All the children from first to sixth class get the opportunity to experience our national game. This year the coaching has been enhanced by the help of transition year students from Colaiste Dun Iascaigh and also past pupil and current county minor Emmma Buckley. Finally best of luck to Colaiste Dun Iascaigh Camogie team who contest the All-Ireland Junior Colleges final next Saturday in Nenagh against Oranmore College from Galway.
