CalArts Community Arts Partnership - Announcement: Summer 2014 Teaching Positions: California Institute of the Arts and its award-winning Community Arts Partnership (CAP) program invite applications for part-time faculty to teach one or more of the following 3-unit courses in a new initiative, the CAP Residency for Teaching Artists: The Artist’s Perspective on Foundations of Learning Theories Creative Curriculum Design/Development and the Language of Standards Child and Adolescent Cognitive and Social Development, Imagination, and Creativity These 3-hour courses will be offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from May 20-June 20, 2014 for a total of 36 hours. Applications are also invited for the following two 1-unit courses: Critical Reflection and Assessment Professional Practices for Artist Educators These 3-hour courses will be offered on Fridays from June 27-July 18, 2014 (excluding July 4) following each session of a three-week Teaching Practicum in the CAP Summer Arts Program. Minimum Requirements: Master’s Degree in Arts Education, Education or related fields, evidence of teaching similar courses, and 3-5 years of teaching experience in a University setting. Previous teaching experience in the arts is highly preferred. Application Procedure: Applicants should forward 1) an application letter of no more than 3 pages; 2) a current Curriculum Vitae; and 3) a syllabus to Glenna Avila, Artistic Director of the CalArts Community Arts Partnership at [email protected] and Nadine Rambeau, Managing Director of the CalArts Community Arts Partnership at [email protected] no later than March 6, 2014. We will begin reviewing applications immediately and will continue to accept applications until the positions are filled.
