Caleb is doing well this morning so far. He has now had his second dose of Vimpat. He did wake in the middle of the night again seeing scary things but hopefully that will lessen as the Keppra gets out of his system, if the Keppra is the reason for the increase in hallucinations if not hopefully the Vimpat will lessen the hallucinations slowly as those are actually seizures. We were under the impression from the previous dr at Shands that his hallucinations were auras but according to this dr he said that hallucinations are actually a seizure. It amazes me how you can take your child to different drs and each tell you different things. Today Caleb wanted to get up and play outside early and that alone is a wonderful change it has been sucha rough summer for him but school work comes first. So he is working on math and then listening to a book on his tablet then he had a few sight words to attempt before he can play outside. The neuro was happy to see Caleb was wearing a helmet yesterday. We purchased his Crasche helmet from crasche and Im happy to say he wears it all the time. It has not fallen off even without a strap, it does not look like a helmet so he likes to wear it and i bought the athletic mesh helmet so it is breathable and he does not get hot at all. Caleb has had several drops since weve had the helmet and not once has he hurt his head.
