Calendar of events Saturday, Nov. 22 The Powhatan Junior Woman’s Club will host its 13th annual Holiday Gift Harvest on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Powhatan United Methodist Church. The event features over 30 local crafters and vendors, a gift basket raffle with proceeds to benefit the Ruby Leonard Food Pantry, Boy Scout Troop 832 selling barbeque, and a bake sale. Shoppers will also have the opportunity to purchase this year’s PJWC pewter ornament that was chosen in honor of the Powhatan Volunteer Fire Department. Proceeds from the event benefit local organizations. Emmanuel Episcopal Church will hold a bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring attic treasures, jewelry, toys, baked goods, books and more. The War Memorial Cultural Arts and Community Center will hold “Old Memories…New Beginnings,” an open house social and fundraising event with drink, dinner and dancing, from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person.
