Calendar understandings. Key differences between Gregorian and Mayan calendars. Gregorian (1582 Pope Gregory) is mechanistic and like a perpetually circular carousel (going nowhere but round in a pointless? circle). It espouses time as outside of us & by shoe-horning us into this mechanistic time perception we are unnaturally pushed, pulled and hurried around (time is money!?!). Mayan is keyed to natural cycles (birth/growth/fruiting/decay/re-birth) and is also a map of the evolution of human consciousness. Mayan says time is subjective not objective. It says we are time and our consciousness moves through time. Time is a map and we are moving through it, ie we are going somewhere. As a test I suggest when possible we step outside of mechanistic time by purposefully not connecting with clocks, watches, tvs, i-phones and instead tune to self and natural environment and see if it feels less stressful.
