California Gun Control: Lets run through the measures designed to stop mass murderers in California: State Background Check, Federal Background Check, 10 Day Waiting Period, One Gun per Month, and a 10 Round Magazine Limit. All measures were in play and they all failed to stop Elliot Roger. So, the answer is more control? Gun Control is flawed. Gun Control does nothing to keep people safe. In fact, it does just the opposite. It makes it more difficult for good people to protect themselves from people like Elliot Roger. Further, if guns were banned and were somehow unavailable to a deranged misfit, someone as determined as he would have just acquired a knife and slashed his victims to death. How do we know that? We know that because he killed his three housemates with a blade. The fatal knifings are not considered noteworthy by the national media and you wont hear too much about it. As for the family of the killer, they are in pain and want someone to blame. I suspect that they knew their son was dangerous. Instead of playing the blame game in the media, this might be the moment for a bit of introspection as to their role in this massacre. At least one story allegedly reported that they saw some of his disturbing videos on Youtube.
