California set a 20% statewide water use reduction target earlier - TopicsExpress

California set a 20% statewide water use reduction target earlier this year in response to the severe drought. Thanks to you, here in West Sacramento citywide water use has been cut by 20.68% for the period of February through August 2014 as compared to the same period last year. City facilities alone reduced water use by 25% during the same period, due in large part to the efforts of our Public Works, Parks and Recreation and Fire Departments. If the Sacramento region were the entire state, wed be hitting the target. Unfortunately, outside of our region and Alameda County, California is falling short. Lodi and many Southern California cities are actually using MORE water than before.
