Caliphate brigades attack other minorities in Northern Iraq According to sources inside Northern Iraq, the armed forces of the Islamic State have launched another attack against areas inhabited by Yazidis in the Sinjar district. The so-called Saraya el Khilafah (Brigades of the Caliphate), regular units of the Islamic State, penetrated Zummar and reached the limits of Christian Assyrian areas of Feishkhabur and Zakho. The same attacks also seized an Oil field at Ain Zala at the border passage between Iraq and Syria. The Caliphate Brigades declared they were purifying the area from infidels and apostates. These brigades claimed they seized Khrab el Tubn and Karsur. These areas are inhabited by minority groups Yazidis and Shabak as well as Christians. The Kurdish areas are adjacent. Until recently the minorities areas outside the borders of Kurdistan were defended by Kurdish Peshmergah forces, but the Jihadi units have been pushing back against the Kurds as well leaving the Christian and Yazidis population unprotected. It was learned that leaders from the Yazidi community have reached out to Iraqi Christian NGOs asking them to unite efforts internationally.
