Call for Applications Scholarship Opportunity for Freshmen Anthropology Students at AUCA Date: September 15, 2013 Mary Schweitzer Scholarship for Excellence in Anthropology welcomes applications from first year students of Anthropology Department at AUCA. The aim of this scholarship is to promote Anthropology as a discipline and support first year students who show interest and passion in anthropology. The scholarship has been established in 2010 by anthropology alumni’05 in honor of Professor Mary Schweitzer in consideration of all she did for the benefit of anthropology at AUCA and her ongoing commitment to the future of her former students. Mary Schweitzer is a US-based Professor of anthropology and she taught anthropology at AUCA from 2002 to 2003 and from 2004 to 2005. Eligibility Students entering their first year of a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in the Department of Anthropology at AUCA are welcome to apply. Applicants must be citizens of Kyrgyzstan and can be of any nationality. Once the award is given to a freshman, the recipient of the Scholarship is permitted to participate in the Mary Schweitzer Scholarship the following academic year. Award amount and type This year the scholarship fund offers $500. Scholarship in form of cash or transfer for the tuition fee will be awarded. The award ceremony will take place on the 18th of November, 2013. The winner will be notified about the venue of the award ceremony.
