Call for Nominations, Three Dot Dash Just Peace Summit, Open to Global Teen Leaders Posted by Craig Zelizer on July 16, 2014 at 12:23pm in Training Opportunities, Conferences and EventsView Discussions how it works for more info see threedotdash.org/the-summit/nomination-process Three Dot Dash Global Teen Leader Nominee Eligibility: Three Dot Dash is looking for 25 — 35 Global Teen Leaders (GTLs) who are doing extraordinary work that helps meet one or more of the basic human needs: food, water, health, shelter, education, safety and the environment — thus, creating a more peaceful society. GTL Nominees must meet ALL of the following requirements to be nominated and to participate in Three Dot Dash: Be nominated by an approved Three Dot Dash Coalition Partner, Educational Institution, other organization (any organization that is not an NGO, but has a Corporate Social Responsibility program or philanthropic division), Global Teen Leader Alumni or Three Dot Dash Mentor. Be between the ages of 13 — 19 at the time of the Just Peace Summit. Be the founder, co-founder or leader of an organization or project that has significantly addressed one or more basic human needs in their communities and/or globally. Speak and write English proficiently. Be able to travel to the United States and participate during the entire Summit — there are no exceptions. Other Important Information: 25 — 35 Global Teen Leaders will be selected to participate in Three Dot Dash 2015. Qualified nominators may nominate more than one GTL. Nomination does not guarantee acceptance to Three Dot Dash. Ten (10) GTLs will be selected as Alternates in the event selected GTLs are unable to participate for any reason. Three Dot Dash Just Peace Summit is hosted by the We Are Family Foundation® (WAFF). Travel, hotel and food will be provided by WAFF for each GTL. Both the NOMINEE FORM and the NOMINATOR FORM must be completed. Failure to submit BOTH FORMS will result in an automatic disqualification. Completed forms must be received NO LATER than Friday, September 19, 2014 by 11:59PM (EST). about the summit Global Teen Leaders (GTLs) will be carefully selected and invited each year to participate in the yearlong Three Dot Dash® initiative from nominations by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other qualified organizations that are members of the Three Dot Dash Coalition. GTLs are chosen for their efforts to promote a more peaceful society by addressing issues related to the basic human needs of food, water, health, shelter, safety, education and the environment and then invited to participate in the yearlong Three Dot Dash initiative. Three Dot Dash will kick-off each year with a weeklong summit entitled Just Peace. The Just Peace Summit is designed to provide the tools GTLs need to further their work and amplify their messages globally. The 2014 Three Dot Dash GTLs represent 11 different countries on four continents. The 2013 Three Dot Dash GTLs represent 13 different countries on five continents. The 2012 Three Dot Dash GTLs represent 16 different countries on five continents. The 2011 Three Dot Dash GTLs represented 15 different countries on five continents. The 2010 Three Dot Dash GTLs represented 13 different countries on four continents. The 2008 Three Dot Dash GTLs represented 18 different countries on five continents. what will happen at the just peace summit? GTLs will: Share their experiences, get to know each other, and join the worldwide family of GTLs. Learn how to tell their stories via multiple media vehicles and distribution methods taught by influential figures from the worlds of film, photography, music, media and communications. Collaborate on the creation of viral campaigns that are distributed globally promoting their work and encouraging millions of people to replicate their positive messages and get involved. Partner with a Three Dot Dash Mentor(s), who for the next year will help GTLs strategize and fulfill their action plans to further their projects. Receive a stipend that will help fund and expand their projects over the next year. where does the name just peace summit come from? The name Just Peace comes from our inspirations: Mattie J.T.
