Call for Panelists: Intersections between Political Ecology and Geographies of Disability AAG Chicago 2015 Organizer: Keith Lindner, SUNY ESF This panel session seeks to explore and foster discussion about critical approaches to nature-society and geographies of disability, and open up conversation about the numerous points of theoretical and empirical overlap between these two fields. A very partial list of intersecting topics and themes includes: -The production of nature, landscape, and the built environment -Embodiment and the body -The politics of knowledge, science, and expertise -Environmental health and toxic bodies -Social movements and questions of rights -The “human” and “more-than-human,” posthumanism, and assemblage geographies -Production of vulnerability, uneven development, and commodification Please send an expression of interest and brief description of what you wish to discuss as part of the panel to Keith Lindner ([email protected]) no later than November 4.
