Call for Papers: Second Biennial CAMANAVA Studies Conference If you are a teacher, student or professional from the CAMANAVA area or Metro Manila or elsewhere in the Philippines or even abroad and have a research work on a challenge related to the theme and sub-themes listed below, the UE Caloocan community invites you to present your work at the Second Biennial CAMANAVA Studies Conference! The Biennial CAMANAVA Studies Conference is a higher education forum organized and conducted by the UE College of Arts and Sciences-Caloocan (UE CAS Caloocan) that promotes basic and applied research in the arts, the humanities, the sciences and allied disciplines on problems affecting Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela and similar areas. The conference will be held on February 6 to 7, 2015, at the Multi-Purpose Hall 3 of the Dr. Lucio C. Tan Building in UE Caloocan. UE’s first Biennial CAMANAVA Studies Conference was held on February 8 and 9, 2013, in UE Caloocan and featured extensive presentations from a variety of paper presenters, who ranged from students to faculty members and school officials and hailing from within UE’s Caloocan and Manila campuses and other institutions within and beyond CAMANAVA. (Two scenes from that conference are shown with this post.) The second Biennial CAMANAVA Studies Conference main theme is “Multi-Disciplinary Issues, Challenges and Directions: A Crisis Outlook.” The sub-themes are: Disaster Management • Gender, Politics and Poverty • Engineering and Information and Communications Technology • Arts and Communication, Hospitality and Business Management. Abstracts are now accepted at UE CAS Caloocan. The deadline for the abstracts has been extended to December 15, 2014. The deadline for the full-length papers is January 5, 2015. The abstract guidelines: 1. The abstract may be submitted by an individual author or a group of authors. 2. It must be an abstract of an original work. 3. The abstract shall contain the title, the author and brief statements of the problem, the methodology, the findings and the conclusion. 4. Two spaces after, the following information about the author must be supplied: a. Name: Title (e.g., Dr., Mr. or Ms.), First Name, Middle Initial and Surname b. Name of school c. Mailing address and email address d. Contact number. 5. The abstract should not exceed 300 words, while the title should not exceed 15 words. 6. The body should be single-spaced. 7. The abstract should be encoded and saved using MS Word (not PDF), in Arial 12 points for text, 16 points bold for the title, and 14 points bold for the name of the author. 8. The abstract should be emailed on or before the deadline to c_a_bruza@yahoo 9. The announcement of the presentation acceptance will be on December 20, 2014. 10. In addition, the presentation of each paper will be limited to 15 minutes. Conference fees: 1. For local participants: 1a. P3,000.00 (on-site registration for non-presenting attendees) 1b. P2,500.00 for early-bird registrants (i.e., those who will register on or before January 6, 2015) 1c. P2,500.00 for presenters whose paper abstracts will be deemed eligible for full paper presentation. 2. For undergraduate students: P2,000.00. 3. For international participants: 3a. US$250.00 (on-site registration) 3b. US$200.00 for early-bird registrants (i.e., those who will register on or before January 6, 2015) 3c. US$200.00 for presenters whose paper abstracts will be deemed eligible for full paper presentation. The conference fees will cover morning and afternoon snacks and lunch, along with a CD of the abstracts, papers and slideshow presentations, and the conference kit.
