Call for entries for the: Winter Arts Festival at the Gallery Uptown, 201 Washington, Grand Haven, February 6-28, 2014. You are invited to enter the: 17th Annual Juried 2014 Winter Arts Festival Exhibit Show dates February 7-28, 2014 You are cordially invited to attend the Artists’ Reception at the Gallery Uptown Friday, February 7, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 Cash awards: Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, place and honorable mentions Awards will be presented by the juror during the Artists’ Reception at 7:00 Juror: Tim Norris is a practicing visual artist and Instructor of Art at Muskegon Community College where he has taught painting, drawing, and art history since 1996. Prior to MCC he was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Art at Western Michigan University, the Curator of Exhibitions and Collections at the Art Center of Battle Creek, and an Assistant Professor of Art at Pikeville College in Kentucky. His artwork has been exhibited at public museums, college galleries, and community galleries throughout the Midwest and beyond for thirty years. Tim and his wife Patti Opel have also produced a series of large scale collaborative paintings organized as the traveling show Through a Crack in the Lake which appeared at the Muskegon Museum of Art in 2006. Requirements 1. Entrants must be age 18 or older 2. All work must be dry and ready for presentation. 3. Two dimensional work must be framed and ready to hang with proper hangers (no sawtooth) and wire. 4. Unframed glass or plexiglass will NOT be accepted 5. Size of 2-D and 3-D pieces must be easy for one person to move 6. Artwork must have been completed within the last 2 years and not previously exhibited in the Walburg Gallery at the Gallery Uptown. Fees $25 non-refundable entry fee covers up to two pieces per artist. • Checks are made payable to: Gallery Uptown Sale of Work • There will be a 35% commission paid to the Gallery when a work from the exhibit is sold. Liability • Entries will be handled with all possible care; however, Gallery Uptown will not be responsible for loss or damage. Calendar: Delivery of artwork January 29, 30, 31 from 10-5:00pm Saturday February 1, from 10-1:00 pm, no work accepted after 1:00.
