!!! Call for participants - KickEbolaOut Working group !!! Dear lovely IFMSA members, Hope this email meets you in good health. Are you passionate to help in eradication of the deadly Ebola virus? Are you able to work from the distance and through internet? If yes than I have a good news for you. The Sierra Leone and Guinean medical students are looking for volunteers worldwide who can promote our online fund-raising activities. You need to have skills in any of the following to apply- strategic planning, social media, blogging, graphic designing, web designing and video editing. What is Ebola Virus Disease? Ebola virus is a severe, often fatal illness, with a case fatality rate of up to 90%. The infection is transmitted by direct contact with the blood, body fluids and tissues of infected animals or people. As Ebola has no treatment or vaccine, prevention is the only method of surviving this disease. And the best method of prevention is education. Background on KickEbolaOut project? The “KickEbolaOut” campaign is a joint awareness program by the Sierra Leone Medical Students’ Association (SLEMSA) and Association des etudiantes en medicine de Guinee (AEM-Guinea). . In this project, medical students visit house-to-house and educate families and deliver the WHO messages about how to prevent contracting this deadly disease. What will the work involve? Work varies from creating social media strategies, to uploading our activity pictures and videos after editing, website and blog maintenance. Promotion of our online donation page. Promotion of our social media pages in other countrys NMO websites, blog, social media page. And promotion of these links into the popular websites in your country.
