Call it synergy, syzygy or coincidence (some say coincidences are Gods way of staying anonymous), or maybe Russ started it all with his recent post about the Japanese cookbook. Yesterday, my literary agents assistant emailed asking if I had a copy of the manuscript of (23-year-old) Todaido Road. The Indonesian publisher, PT Mizan, wants to translate it and publish it in Indonesia. I do have the final draft, by the way. Last night I visited with a local book club whose members have read TOKAIDO and wanted to talk about it. Im always happy for the chance to hold forth on the fascinating and compelling culture of Japan. Today, JR Sanders posted this link on the WWA page. (And by the way, the word priceless well describes the sword that Fujita-san presented to the town.
