Call off the APB Pap--Im still here! Apologies for my lack of updates, Its been a very busy week. Yesterday was the start of the second week of my checking line--only six more weeks to go. My week finished on Friday evening with a day off Saturday, back to work Sunday/Monday, day off today then away again tomorrow returning home late Saturday night. In that period have completed multiple check flights on Captains and First Officers as well as a recency sector for a Captain off long term leave. Most of the flights were very routine, some had problems that needed dealing with pre-flight but nothing really over the top. Some of the arrivals in to Perth have been interesting, the wind there last week was a strong and gusty Easterly with landings on runway 03. The Airbus with its long wingspan, fly forever on a gust of air wing and its whos in control? flight control system with subtle mode changes as you approach the ground and again after touchdown, made for a couple of interesting approaches. Glad it was them not me :-0 Ill try and post more regularly so I can relay some of the interesting stuff as it happens. Trouble is that each slip that I have is usually only 12 to 13 hours and the start/finish times havent been that friendly, particularly when I have to submit a report after each pilot for their training records AND organise some time for a beer or two--all takes time. Anyway, off to Sydney again tomorrow to pick up a flight SYD-PER for a check on a captain. More updates soon.
