Call to Solidarity from Vancouver, Canada The Latin American and Canadian community severely condemns the barbaric human rights violations that our Mexican sisters and brothers, as well as immigrants traveling through Mexico, have been experiencing for many decades now. This constant violation of human rights has turned our anger into denouncing and action in light of the recent State crime committed against the students of the Rural Normal School Raúl Isidro Burgos of Ayotzinapa, Guerrero. From Vancouver, we extend our solidarity to the 43 disappeared students of Ayotzinapa and their families, who despite the great pain which afflicts them, stand as a moral force. They are the ones who continue to resist and fight for justice, even at the risk of their own lives. Our community in Vancouver has received the message of the parents of the 43 students through Omar Garcia, Ayotzinapas voiceperson. We have committed to raise $10, 000 dollars for humanitarian aid, which will go towards communication and broadcasting projects in Ayotzinapa. For this reason we ask for your trust and support, which can be provided in many ways: by spreading the word through the media and social networks, through art, poetry, music and creativity, by speaking out, and of course, by working together to gather the $10, 000 dollars. The money raised will be directly transfered from our account in Canada, Solidaridad con Ayotzinapa Vancouver, to the account of HIJOS Mexico, Hijos por la Identidad y la Justicia contra el Olvido y el Silencio, hijosmexico.org which is the entity responsible for personally delivering the money to the parents. That way, once the funds are received, it will be them who publicly confirm the donation. Nuestra comunidad en Vancouver ha recibido el mensaje de los padres de los 43 estudiantes a través del vocero de Ayoptzinapa Omar García, y nos comprometimos a recaudar $10 mil dólares canadienses como ayuda humanitaria, los cuales serán destinados a proyectos de comunicación y difusión en Ayotzinapa. Por esta razón solicitamos su confianza y respaldo, el cual puede ser manifestado de diversos formas: Difundiéndolo en medios de comunicación, redes sociales; a través del arte, la poesía, la música, la creatividad, alzando su voz, y por supuesto, trabajando juntos para recaudar los $10 mil dólares canadienses.
