Calling all Foodies! Local producers workshop: We are keen to connect the Albany and Great Southern regions diverse producers and to identify best approaches to move the local food industry forward. Ideas to explore: Is there support for a Food Hub, a Good Council, a Food Cooperative, a one-drop produce stop, farm gate sales, or removing red tape? Do you want to save freight costs and maximise your returns? How do we promote and brand our produce, and is there potential for a unified approach? When: 5pm-7pm, Monday 8 December Where: Civic Rooms, City of Albany 102 North Road Liz Jack is attending this workshop if you wish to car pool. Consumers workshop: Food miles, freshness and quality, knowing where your food comes from, ethical food practices, supporting local farmers, ordering and shopping tools, food security. What is important for you? What would you support? We are keen to explore different ways to get sustainable, local good to the community. When: 1pm-3pm, Monday 8 December Where: Civic Rooms, City of Albany 102 North Road Retailers and Restaurateurs workshop: Interested in sourcing and selling local produce? Where do you go and how do you source and support local producers? Do you need an easy to find, buy, sell and move sustainable local food? Food producers register and/or regional food production calendar? What are the issues and barriers and what solutions can we implement to assist local farmers and retailers/restaurateurs working together?
