Calling all Society & Environment and Wearable Art AATFAWA past contestants! The Beaufort Street Festival is now accepting applications for wearable art garments to be showcased as part of this year’s debut fashion program. It is a great opportunity and anyone can enter, you don’t need to be a heat or start finalist – all past participants are welcome. Read below for details – applications are due on Wednesday 23 October. ~~~ For the first time since its inception, the Beaufort Street Festival will be debuting a fashion program. It will be bringing fashion to the street when it takes over Beaufort Street on Saturday 16 November. As part of the pop up fashion program on the street during the Beaufort Street Festival, they will present a wearable art showcase. The wearable art showcase will include a wearable art runway show on the Community Stage where select models are led down the street to pose in shopfronts as live mannequins in a wearable art installation. The wearable art showcase will be judged by an industry panel and the winning work will receive a prize. HOW YOU CAN BE INVOLVED Fashion and design students are invited to enter wearable art garments for the 2013 Beaufort Street Festival. Garments do not need to be new works, however, garments need to be complete by Wednesday 23 October for consideration.
