Calling it “Tourist tip #358 / International Oud Festival 2013″ the Israeli English language paper “Haaretz,” ignores the musical instrument most used by Palestinian people that Israel occupies, and instead says “The oud goes back into the dim reaches of history.” Then, it appropriates the music of a Greek and Turkish artists, in order to normalize Israeli apartheid, colonialism, and racial segregation. This year features two Israeli premieres, as the festival programs tells us, the Katerina Papadopoulou Ensemble with traditional Greek music, and the popular Turkish singer Sabahat Akkiraz performing Turkish folk and Sufi music. The festival also features the Israeli artists Yair Dalal, Amos Hoffman, Haya Samir and others. – Haaretz The boycott of Israel Katerina Papadopoulou Ensemble of Greece & Turkish folk and Sufi musical artist Sabahat Akkiraz, please do not disregard the Palestinian call for boycott.
