Calling on all our Northern Suburbs members: ASSISTANCE NEEDED: FOOD/CLOTHING/ELEC/NAPPIES Brackenfell Cape Town. I saw your cause on Smile FM and was wondering if you only help big organisations or individual families as well? The reason for this question is that I need help with my nephews. My oldest sister sent her 2 eldest boys to Cape Town to come and live with my parents as she can’t afford look after them. Now she does not contribute anything monthly to my parents to assist them in their day to day living. My parents raised 6 daughters. They are both in their 50’s and are still working. They are also under debt review and they are struggling to keep up with the two boys. They are not use to boys so it’s all new to them. The one is 15 and the other 12. The 12 year old also has ADHD. They don’t have to pay school fees thankfully but still needs all the things that go with it. My parents can’t keep up with the demand on food in the house as the boys eat a lot. School thIngs, clothes, toiletries, food and teenage mood swings was the last thing my parents need at this age but what else can they do. We know it is not their fault that they are here. In the meantime my parent try to help me out as well. I have only now started working after 9 months of struggling and have a 20month old boy. With all the things we now desperately need to pay we are not coming through the month with nappies and wipes, so they try to help us as well. If there is any way you can help or assist please let me know as my parents are at their end and the last thing we want those kids to feel is that they are unwanted here as well. HELP NEEDED: most important is the school things like supplies and clothing. I know they are also struggling with the amount of milk, bread and electricity that is needed.
