A beautiful project that is going on in Maikop. Those who proceed for settlement and citizenship in Adygea or are looking for a very reasonable priced accommodation while visiting Xeku, can make use of this guesthouse. To the settlers they will provide help with language learning, support with the adaptation in social and cultural activities. For Caucasians visiting Maikop, you will get in return a stay offered in a decent and social environment. Now let me tell you more about Tij Ilkay. Tij Ilkay was in preparation to live in Adygea and was making regular trips to Caucasia. By nightfall of the day that he was processing his citizenship, he was involved in a car accident near Maikop. I arrived a couple hours after the accident of Ilkay in Maikop. My dads friend came to pick me up from the airport in Krasnodar. Very excited as I was to be back in my homeland after a long time, I knew something was up. He told me that a car accident happened involving some of his guests. The upcoming days our mutual friends stood beside him in the hospital. Despite never meeting him personally, all Ive heard were amazing stories about this beautiful person. How focussed he was on our culture, language, history and his efforts for the xasa in Istanbul. I wish I had the opportunity to have met him. Sadly he passed away a couple days later on 13.03.2013 and was buried in Maikop. This valuable project is to commemorate Tij Ilkay and for those who are returning to their homeland, solving the problem of accommodation in the first stage of their return. In addition, helping people that have started the procedure of citizenship/residence permit. In case of enough facilities, this place is also expected to contribute with adaptation and language learning. The guesthouse is advancing rapidly. This because of the help of a lot of people, organizations, institutions, communities. At this stage to finish the construction, a figure up to $130.000 dollars is still needed.
